Life at the Happy House

Life has been a little crazy for the past few weeks as we've been getting ready to move. We're finally moved in and I'm enjoying putting things in the exact right spot and also getting things ready for baby!

While we're busy moving in, please enjoy the following video. It's of my stomach. At about 7 seconds, you'll see my ring finger move. That's Baby telling me I need to go eat something!

First Post of 2011

Here we go in 2011! We've already had some fun events.

- Parker obtained a spider bite and required ointment 3x a day on it. Which he proceeded to try and lick off. We had to put the "cone of shame" on him a couple of times before the "NO!" made it through his pea brain. It's looking much better.

- Met with my new OB care people over at the Mountain Midwifery Center. I was really impressed with their knowledge and their personal interest in our baby. I don't know that it'd be the right fit for everyone (if you aren't prepared for vitamin and essential oil recommendations), but we're really pleased with the standard of care. Plus, they don't make you drink Glucola for the glucose test. Plain old grape juice.

- Midwife said that baby looks good and I'm measuring right on schedule! She was surprised at how active Baby was at the appointment. Once again, the combined metabolisms of Ben & Jenn make for exciting times. Baby was resting mostly down low in a transverse position, making itself comfortable right on top of my bladder, of course. We've still got a few weeks before it needs to move to the correct head-down position.

- We are still in the process of moving to the Happy House. I've got most of our stuff in boxes and it's driving me absolutely bonkers to be so messy right now. Everything is very organized, don't worry - I am a seasoned mover by now and I've learned what works for us. Plus, we have the advantage this time of a cross-town move instead of a cross-country move.

- Friday starts rehearsals for our senior play. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. This is my third year directing, so I'm hoping that I've learned enough so that I can make it a nice, smooth process.

- Glucose tolerance test tomorrow. I'm hoping Baby+I tolerate everything. :)
